Baseball Recap: Chiles Takes a Loss

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Chiles can now relate to. They fell just short of the Mosley Dolphins by a score of 8-7 on Wednesday. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Dolphins this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 14-4 back in February.

Saunder Dinkelman made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and one stolen base. That home run was his first of the season. Cole Lawson was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two runs.

Chiles has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 15-11 record this season. As for Mosley, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 16-10.

Chiles didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 5-4 defeat against Gulf Breeze on the 23rd. As for Mosley, they have also already played their next contest, a 4-3 loss against Lincoln on the 17th.
