A comprehensive list of the best showcases for the prep hoops fan.

Most of the Top 25 teams are in action throughout tournament season.

High school basketball season is underway, as some of the top events of the 2019-20 high school basketball season have already passed with many more to come your way.

Over the years high school basketball has grown bigger and bigger on the national stage with more prep schools and basketball academies than ever before. All that talent has to play somewhere, and that's why our top event list that featured just over 50 events three seasons ago has grown to nearly 70 this season.

If you consider yourself a true high school basketball junkie, here's a guide to nearly 70 of the top high school basketball events put on from coast to coast in 2019-20:

20-24 — Washington Tournament of Champions (Washington, Ill.)
Features teams across eight states, headlined by Preseason Top 100 programs Millennium (Goodyear, Ariz.), Morgan Park (Chicago) and Woodward Academy (College Park, Ga.).

22-23 — Gate City Classic (Greensboro, N.C.)


29-30 — Charlotte Hoops Challenge (Charlotte, N.C.)
Many top teams from the Charlotte area will participate, including Ardrey Kell (Charlotte, N.C.), Cannon, Combine Academy, Concord First Assembly Academy (Concord, N.C.), Independence (Charlotte, N.C.), David W. Butler (Matthews, N.C.) and Zebulon B. Vance (Charlotte, N.C.) among others.

29-30 — Holiday Hoopsgiving (Atlanta)

29-30 — Hoops and Dreams Showcase (Fayetteville, N.C.)
Preseason Top 100 programs Combine Academy, Farmville Central (Farmville, N.C.), Huntington Prep (Huntington, W. Va.), Moravian Prep, and Word of God Christian Academy (Raleigh, N.C.) will headline Phenom Hoops' Thanksgiving event.



29-30 — Lighthouse Thanksgiving Classic (Corinth, Miss.)

5-7 — Hoophall West (Phoenix)
MaxPreps Preseason Top 100 teams Coronado (Henderson, Nev.), Hamilton Heights Christian Academy (Chattanooga, Tenn.), Hillcrest Prep (Phoenix, Ariz.), Mater Dei (Santa Ana, Calif.), Millennium (Goodyear, Ariz.), Prolific Prep, Rancho Christian (Temecula, Calif.) and Sierra Canyon will all be in action in Phoenix.

5-8 — Marshall County Hoopfest (Benton, Ky.)
One of the top events of the Grind Session will be headlined by Briarcrest Christian, Callaway, Curie (Chicago), Dream City Christian (Glendale, Ariz.), Lausanne Collegiate (Memphis, Tenn.), Madisonville-North Hopkins (Madisonville, Ky.), Male (Louisville, Ky.), Marshall County (Benton, Ky.) and Prolific Prep among others.

6-7 — Chicago Elite Classic (Chicago)
Christian Brothers (St. Louis), Duncanville, Pace Academy (Atlanta) and St. Frances Academy (Baltimore), will join Windy City area powers Bloom (Chicago Heights, Ill.), Evanston (Evanston, Ill.), Morgan Park, Simeon (Chicago) and Whitney Young (Chicago) in the loaded Chicago event.

7 — Fred Pickett Play By Play Classic (Chester, Pa.)
The Philadelphia area event will provide an early look at Keystone State contenders Archbishop Carroll (Radnor, Pa.), Neumann-Goretti (Philadelphia), St. Benedict's Prep and Westtown among others.

7 — Tournament of Champions Showcase (Marietta, Ga.)
Peach State contenders Grayson, Greenforest, Lithonia (Ga.), Pebblebrook (Mableton, Ga.) and Wheeler (Marietta, Ga.) will be joined by Tar Heel State power Moravian Prep in Marietta.

7-8 — Norm Stewart Classic (Columbia, Mo.)
This unique event gives us an early look at Missouri contenders, with 48 consecutive hours of basketball over the course of this special three-day event.

7-9 — National Hoopfest (Hyattsville, Md.)
Preseason Top 25 schools DeMatha (Hyattsville, Md.), Gonzaga (Washington, D.C.), IMG Academy (Bradenton, Fla.), Paul VI (Fairfax, Va.) and Sunrise Christian Academy (Bel Aire, Kan.) headline the loaded event.

12-14 — Battle at the Rock (Fort Mill, S.C.)
A strong field is headlined by AZ Compass Prep (Chandler, Ariz.), Cannon, Chapmanville Regional (Chapmanville, W. Va.), Combine Academy, Dream City Christian (Glendale, Ariz.), Dorman (Roebuck, S.C.), Keenan (Columbia, S.C.), Legacy Early College, Moravian Prep and Oak Hill Academy (Mouth of Wilson, Va.).

12-14 — Bojangles Bash (Columbia, S.C.)
MaxPreps Preseason Top 100 schools Dorman, Huntington Prep, Moravian Prep, North Mecklenburg (Huntersville, N.C.) and Oak Hill Academy all will be in action in Columbia.

13-14 Good Guys vs. Cancer (Kill Devil Hills, N.C.)
MaxPreps Preseason Top 100 schools Farmville Central, Trinity Episcopal (Richmond, Va.) and Word of God will be in action in Kill Devil Hills.


14 — Ohio Scholastic Play By Play Classic (Columbus, Ohio)
The highly anticipated event culminates with a showdown between Sierra Canyon and St. Vincent-St. Mary (Akron, Ohio) with LeBron James Jr.  facing his father's alma mater.

14 — Battle in the Apple (Brooklyn, N.Y.)
Brewster Academy (Wolfeboro, N.H.), Core4 Prep, Hillcrest Prep, Mayfair (Lakewood, Calif.), Putnam Science Academy (Putnam, Conn.) and South Shore participate in a trio of showdowns at the home of the Brooklyn Nets.



14 — Braggin' Rights Georgia vs. Alabama (Huntsville, Ala.)
This event pits five of the top teams from Alabama and Georgia against each other with Greenforest, Oxford (Ala.), Pinson Valley (Pinson, Ala.) and Woodward Academy (College Park, Ga.) as headliners.


16-17 — Duel in the Desert (Scottsdale, Ariz.)
Grind Session circuit event.

17-21 — 'Iolani Classic (Honolulu)
Seven teams travel to Hawaii as Archbishop Wood (Warminster, Pa.), Garfield (Seattle), Jefferson (Portland, Ore.), Long Island Lutheran (Brookville, N.Y.), Mount Vernon (N.Y.), Oak Hill Academy and Wasatch Academy (Mt. Pleasant, Utah) headline the storied holiday event.

17-21 — Jerry Tarkanian Classic (Las Vegas)
Host Bishop Gorman (Las Vegas), Clark (Las Vegas), Coronado, Mater Dei, Marion, Mayfair, Neumann-Goretti (Philadelphia), Putnam City West (Oklahoma City), Sheldon (Sacramento, Calif.) and Washington (Milwaukee), headline the stacked Las Vegas event.

18-23 — City of Palms Classic (Fort Myers, Fla.)
15 teams from the MaxPreps Preseason Top 100 travel to the Sunshine State in mid-December highlighted by top-ranked Montverde Academy, defending national champions IMG Academy and defending event champions McEachern (Powder Springs, Ga.).

19-22 — Emerald Coast 16 (Niceville, Fla.)
The second year Sunshine State event highlighted by Lee (Huntsville, Ala.), Meadowcreek, Memphis East (Memphis, Tenn.), Milton (Ga.), Pebblebrook, Potter's House Christian (Jacksonville, Fla.) and South Shore.



19-23 — Chick-fil-A Classic (Columbia, S.C.)
The 18th annual Chick-fil-A Classic showcases a loaded field Cannon, Dorman, Gray Collegiate, Greenforest, Greensboro Day, Hillcrest Prep, Huntington Prep, La Lumiere (LaPorte, Ind.), Legacy Early College, Prolific Prep, Word of God and Westtown (West Chester, Pa.).

19-23 — King of the Bluegrass (Fairdale, Ky.)
The 39th edition of the event field will feature Bluegrass State competitors Ballard (Louisville, Ky.), Madisonville-North Hopkins, Male and North Oldham (Goshen, Ky.) are joined by out-of-state opponents Bishop McDevitt (Wyncote, Pa.), Brentwood Academy (Brentwood, Tenn.), Palmetto (Miami) and Trotwood-Madison (Trotwood, Ohio).

21-22 — Hoop Group Tip-Off Showcase (Elizabeth, N.J.)
Top 100 Garden State teams Bergen Catholic (Oradell, N.J.), Gill St. Bernard's (Gladstone, N.J.) and Patrick School (Hillside, N.J.) participate in Elizabeth.

26-30 — John Wall Holiday Invitational (Raleigh, N.C.)
The loaded post-Christmas tournament features MaxPreps Preseason Top 100 squads Callaway, Combine Academy, Farmville Central, Hillcrest Prep, Millbrook (Raleigh, N.C.), Montverde Academy,  Moravian Prep, Patrick School and Word of God.

26-30 — Les Schwab Invitational (Hillsboro, Ore.)
Bishop Gorman, Eastside Catholic (Sammamish, Wash.), Mater Dei and Norcross will be favorites against the Beaver State's top programs.

26-30 — Rancho Mirage Holiday Invitational (Palm Springs, Calif.)
Golden State contenders will be joined by out-of-state teams American Fork (Utah), Bellevue (Wash.), Canyon Springs (North Las Vegas, Nev.), Lake Washington (Kirkland, Wash.), Liberty (Issaquah, Wash.), Mount Si (Snoqualmie, Wash.), Pleasant Grove (Utah), Snow Canyon (St. George, Utah) and Spring Creek (Nev.) in this year's event.

26-31 — Governor's Challenge (Salisbury, Md.)
The 39th edition of the largest holiday tournament in the country features 120 teams across four venues.

26-29 — The Classic at Damien (La Verne, Calif.)
One of the top holiday events on the West Coast features a stacked Platinum Division with Golden State powers Etiwanda (Calif.), Fairfax (Los Angeles, Calif.), Rancho Christian, Salesian College Preparatory (Richmond, Calif.), Sierra Canyon, St. John Bosco (Bellflower, Calif.) and Windward.



26-30 — Torrey Pines Holiday Classic (San Diego)
The 30th running of the event will feature 77 teams headlined by Archbishop Mitty, Bishop O'Dowd, Cathedral Catholic (San Diego), JSerra Catholic, Oak Cliff Faith Family Academy, San Ysidro (San Diego), Sheldon and St. Augustine (San Diego).

26-31 — Beach Ball Classic (Myrtle Beach, S.C.)
The 16-team field features teams from 12 different states and D.C. headlined by preseason top 100 schools Dorman, Long Island Lutheran, Millennium, Morgan Park, Poly (Baltimore) and Whitney Young.

26-31 — Arby's Classic (Bristol, Tenn.)
The 37th annual event showcases Bartlett, Concord First Assembly Academy, Fayetteville (Ark.), Maret (Washington, D.C.), Mentor (Ohio), Mountain Brook, North Mecklenburg, Southwest DeKalb (Decatur, Ga.) and The Webb School.

27-28 — Tournament of Champions Classic (Marietta, Ga.)
The Peach State holiday event is headlined by East Coweta (Sharpsburg, Ga.), Grayson, Greenforest, Marshall (Richmond, Va.), McEachern, Meadowcreek, Pebblebrook, Tucker (Ga.) and Wheeler.

27-29 — Hoop City Classic (Mitchell and Sioux Falls, S.D.)
Out-of-state teams Cornerstone Christian (San Antonio), DeLaSalle (Minneapolis), Houston (Germantown, Tenn.) and Lynn English (Lynn, Mass.) join South Dakota powers in Sioux Falls.

27-29 — Slam Dunk to the Beach (Lewes, Del.)
Preseason Top 100 schools Archbishop Stepinac (White Plains, N.Y.), First Love Christian, Gill St. Bernard's, Legacy Early College, Paul VI, Roselle Catholic (Roselle, N.J.), Sanford (Hockessin, Del.) and Westtown  participate in Lewes.



27-29 — Whataburger Tournament (Fort Worth, Texas)
The 62nd edition of the holiday tournament features Lone Star State contenders Atascocita (Humble, Texas), Duncanville, Guyer, Lewisville (Texas), Mansfield Timberview (Arlington, Texas), Northwest (Justin, Texas), Trinity (Euless, Texas) and Wyatt (Fort Worth, Texas).

27-30 — Rotary Roundball Classic (North Charleston, S.C.)
The 27th edition of the event features teams from Florida, Georgia, New Jersey, North Carolina, New York and Maryland joining the Palmetto state's top programs.

27-30 — Pete & Jameer Nelson Classic (Chester, Pa.)
This event brings a strong crop of talent from the Philadelphia area with top 100 schools Bishop McDevitt, Imhotep Charter and Roman Catholic (Philadelphia) among the headliners.

2-4 — ARS/Rescue Rooter National Hoopfest (Memphis, Tenn.)
The loaded Memphis event will feature Briarcrest Christian, Christian Brothers, Hamilton Heights Christian, IMG Academy, Lausanne Collegiate, Memphis East, Montverde Academy, Olive Branch, Vashon (St. Louis, Mo.) and Wooddale.

3-4 — Cancer Research Classic (Wheeling, W.Va.)
Annually, one of the top events in high school hoops showcases preseason top 100 teams Chapmanville Regional, DeMatha, First Love Christian, Huntington Prep, ISA Andrews Osborne, La Lumiere, Mater Dei, Norcross, Paul VI, Roman Catholic, Roselle Catholic, Sunrise Christian Academy and Wasatch Academy.

5 — Cleveland Scholastic Play By Play Classic (Euclid, Ohio)
Buckeye State contenders square off in Euclid, headlined by preseason top 100 schools Brush (Lyndhurst, Ohio), St. Edward (Lakewood, Ohio) and St. Vincent-St. Mary.

4-7 — McCracken County Mustang Madness (Paduca, Ky.)
Grind Session circuit event.

10-11 — Ascender Classic (Bradenton, Fla.)
Preseason top five programs Huntington Prep and host IMG Academy headline the Sunshine State event.

10-11 — Metro Classic 1 (Toms River, N.J.)
Part one of the Garden state event will feature Archbishop Carroll, Bishop McDevitt, Blair Academy (Blairstown, N.J.), Gill St. Bernard's, Montverde Academy, Our Saviour Lutheran (Bronx, N.Y.) and Patrick School.



11 — Highland Shootout (Highland, Ill.)
This 29th edition of the shootout will be headlined by Chaminade (St. Louis), Christian Brothers, Collinsville (Ill.), Father Tolton (Columbia, Mo.), Hamilton (Sussex, Wis.), Mehlville (St. Louis) and Vashon.

16-18 — Bass Pro Shops Tournament of Champions (Springfield, Mo.)
Christ the King (Middle Village, N.Y.), Greensboro Day, Oak Hill Academy, Paul VI, Vashon and Washington will join local powers Greenwood (Springfield, Mo.) and Kickapoo (Springfield, Mo.) in the loaded eight-team field.

16-20 — Spalding Hoophall Classic (Springfield, Mass.)
The top showcase event in high school hoops features each of the top 10 squads in our preseason rankings with DeMatha, Huntington Prep, IMG Academy, La Lumiere, Montverde Academy, Oak Hill Academy, Patrick School, Paul VI, Prolific Prep and Sierra Canyon all headed to basketball's birthplace.

17-20 — Flyin to The Hoop (Dayton, Ohio)
Top 100 Buckeye State programs St. Edward and St. Vincent-St Mary are joined by top 100 out of state schools Dream City Christian, First Love Christian, Grayson, Hillcrest Prep, Huntington Prep and Prolific Prep.

18 — Dan Finn Classic (Jersey City, N.J.)
Sixteenth edition of the event headlined by Jersey State competitors Hudson Catholic (Jersey City, N.J.), Linden (N.J.), Marist (Bayonne, N.J.), St. Peter's Prep (Jersey City, N.J.) and Wildwood Catholic (North Wildwood, N.J.)

21 — MaxPreps MLK Classic (Moraga, Calif.)
Bishop O'Dowd, Campolindo, Cathedral Catholic (San Diego), De La Salle (Concord, Calif.), Modesto Christian (Modesto, Calif.), Moreau Catholic and Salesian College Preparatory headline a group of 14 teams who have the opportunity to play on the home court of the St. Mary's Gaels.

23-25 — Montverde Academy Invitational (Montverde, Fla)
The 17th annual M.A.I.T. will feature an eight-team field of Crestwood Prep (Canada), La Crosse Central (La Crosse, Wis.), Long Island Lutheran, Master's Academy (Oviedo, Fla.), Montverde Academy, South Miami (Miami, Fla.), Westminster Academy (Fort Lauderdale, Fla.) and Westtown.



24-25 Quincy Shootout (Quincy, Ill.)
The loaded two-day event will feature Chaminade, Hamilton Heights Christian, Marian Catholic (Chicago Heights, Ill.), Mehlville, Memphis East, Sheldon and others.

24-26 — Crush in the Valley (Fairfield, Calif.)
Grind Session circuit event.

26 — Kiwanis Hotbed Classic (New Albany, Miss.)
MaxPreps Preseason Top 100 programs Briarcrest Christian, Callaway and Mountain Brook headline the Magnolia State event.

Jan. 30-Feb. 1 — Bob Kirk Invitational (Cumberland, Md.)
The three-day event culminates with a four-team tournament featuring host Bishop Walsh (Cumberland, Md.), La Lumiere, St. Benedict's Prep (Newark, N.J.) and Wasatch Academy.

Jan. 30-Feb. 1 — St. James Invitational (Hagerstown, Md.)
The loaded eight-team field features First Love Christian, Hillcrest Prep, IMG Academy, Legacy Early College, Montverde Academy, National Christian Academy (Fort Washington, Md.), Riverdale Baptist (Upper Marlboro, Md.) and St. James (Hagerstown, Md.).

Jan. 31-Feb. 1 — ARS/Rescue Rooter National Hoopfest (Tampa, Fla.)
Berkeley Prep (Tampa, Fla.), Cornerstone Christian, Huntington Prep, Tampa Catholic (Tampa, Fla.) and West Oaks headline the Sunshine State event.

Jan. 31-Feb. 1 — Nike Extravaganza (Santa Ana, Calif.)
Preseason Top 100 programs Bishop Gorman, Etiwanda, Gonzaga, Mater Dei, Rancho Christian, Salesian College Preparatory and Whitney Young headline the loaded West Coast event.

February

7-8 — Metro Classic 2 (Toms River, NJ)
Part two of the Garden State event showcases a strong field headlined by Camden (N.J.), First Love Christian, Gill St. Bernard's, Huntington Prep, Lewisville (Texas), Long Island Lutheran, Patrick School, Rutgers Prep (Somerset, N.J.), Sierra Canyon and Wildwood Catholic.

15 — Heartland Hoops Classic (Grand Island, Neb.)
Out-of-state teams Bishop Walsh, IMG Academy and Sunrise Christian academy join Cornhusker State contenders in Grand Island.
