Soccer Recap: Lancaster Victorious

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Eastside, Lancaster was happy to have turned things around on Monday. They had just enough and edged the Burroughs Burros out 1-0. The Eagles' winning goal came courtesy of Johnny Velasquez.

Lancaster was without their leading scorer, Kendrick Garcia Quiroz, in Monday's contest. With Garcia Quiroz sidelined, Andrew Jauregui got his first action of the season.

The win got Lancaster back to even at 2-2-2. As for Burroughs, they now have a losing record at 2-3-1.

Lancaster is taking a road trip to square off against Quartz Hill at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Burroughs, they will take on Excelsior Charter in a tournament on Saturday. Burroughs' offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for four straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.
