Football Recap: St. Paul Catholic Takes Loss Despite Strong Performances from Jack Dennehy and Max Kozikowski

St. Paul Catholic lost against Wolcott back in October of 2021 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Falcons fell 24-14 to the Eagles.

St. Paul Catholic's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Max Kozikowski, who rushed for 179 yards and one touchdown, and Jack Dennehy, who picked up 101 receiving yards and one score.

St. Paul Catholic has also traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-6 record this season. As for Wolcott, the win snapped their losing streak at four games and leaves them with a 4-5 record.

Looking ahead, after both having extra time off, St. Paul Catholic and Gilbert/Northwestern/Housatonic will shake off the cobwebs and hit the field against one another at 6:00 p.m. on the 26th. The Falcons will be up against the Yellowjackets' rather soft defense (which has allowed 30.25 points per matchup), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Wolcott, they will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Holy Cross at 10:00 a.m. on the 27th.
