Basketball Game Preview: Shelbyville Central Golden Eagles vs. Blackman Blaze

Shelbyville Central is 0-6 against Blackman since February of 2015 but things could change on Friday. The Shelbyville Central Golden Eagles will head out on the road to challenge the Blackman Blaze at 2:00 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Shelbyville Central is headed into the contest having just suffered their biggest defeat since January 30th on Tuesday. They might have been a little too into the holiday spirit, gifting Tullahoma an easy 63-43 win. While losing is never fun, the Golden Eagles can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee basketball rankings (they are ranked 149th, while the Wildcats are ranked 36th).

Meanwhile, Blackman unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Tuesday. They fell to Columbia Central 44-39. The matchup marked the Blaze's lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Blackman's loss dropped their record down to 5-2. As for Shelbyville Central, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-4.

Shelbyville Central came up short against Blackman when the teams last played back in December of 2023, falling 45-34. Can Shelbyville Central avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
