Football Recap: Wakefield Trojans vs. Tri County Northeast Wolfpack
Wakefield fought the good fight in their overtime contest against Tri County Northeast on Friday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell 26-20 to the Wolfpack. The Trojans lost against the Wolfpack in their previous head to head back in October of 2024, too, but the margin this time around was much closer than the 48-13 score last time.
When it comes to explaining why Wakefield lost, don't look at Mason Lamprecht. Despite the final result, he picked up 96 receiving yards and one score.
Tri County Northeast's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Thatcher Lamp, who rushed for 128 yards, and also threw for 66 yards and a pair of TDs. Those 128 rushing yards gave Lamp a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Devin Reinert, who rushed for 92 yards and one touchdown on only 13 carries.
Wakefield's loss dropped their record down to 0-6. As for Tri County Northeast, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-5.
