McDonough took a 28-point defeat the last time they faced off against Union Grove, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Warhawks sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 16-14 win over the Wolverines on Friday. This was payback for the Warhawks, who suffered a 35-7 loss the last time these two teams met.

Drayden Gibbs went supernova, rushing for 117 yards while picking up 7.3 yards per carry, and also throwing for 176 yards and one TD.

When it comes to explaining why Union Grove lost, don't look at Avery Wright. Despite the final result, he rushed for 132 yards and one touchdown. The Wolverines also got help from Justin Simmons, who showed off his sure hands for 84 receiving yards.
