Two dominant signal callers in Hunter Salinas and LEVI GOLLA are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Nixon Mustangs will square off against the New Braunfels Unicorns at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

On Saturday, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Nixon beat Martin 25-20. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Mustangs.

Mateo Hernandez and Emiliano Hernandez were among the main playmakers for Nixon as the former picked up 151 receiving yards and one touchdown and the latter picked up 39 receiving yards and a pair of scores. Mateo got the majority of those receiving yards when he pulled down a pass and took off for a gain of 85 yards.

Meanwhile, New Braunfels made easy work of Wagner on Thursday and carried off a 35-14 win. The Unicorns might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six games by 21 points or more this season.

Nixon better keep an eye on BROCK STEWART. He was instrumental in New Braunfels' win, rushing for 148 yards and one TD on only ten carries. That's the most rushing yards STEWART has posted since back in October of 2024.

Nixon's record now sits at 7-3. As for New Braunfels, their record is now 8-2.

Friday's matchup might be decided on the ground. Nixon has been excellent on the ground this season, having averaged 160.9 rushing yards per game.
