Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Turpin). They blew past the Buffalo Bison 23-1 on Monday. The Cardinals have beaten the Bison the last six times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Bison has come to flipping the script.

Max Garza and Mason Nelson made a big impact while hitting and pitching. Throwing, Garza tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Meanwhile, Nelson pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. At bat, Garza scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances, while Nelson scored two runs and stole two bases while going 3-for-3. Nelson also put up a double, which was his first of the season.

In other batting news, Jhett Huffman was a standout: he scored two runs and stole two bases while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances. He also hit a double, marking his first of the season. Another player making a difference was Carson Peters, who scored four runs and stole a base while going 3-for-3.

Turpin kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.

Turpin's win bumped their record up to 6-2. As for Buffalo, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-2.
