Softball Recap: Warrenton Triumphs

Warrenton won the last time they faced Corbett and things went their way on Saturday too. The Warriors came out on top against the Cardinals by a score of 8-4. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Warriors.

Scarlet Anderson spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and two unearned) runs on nine hits and racked up 11 Ks. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 11 consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Warrenton let Hannah Leavitt and Natalie Pike run wild. Leavitt went 2-for-3 with two RBI and one run, while Pike got on base in all four of her plate appearances with two runs. Those two RBI gave Leavitt a new career-high.

Warrenton's victory bumped their record up to 4-8-1. As for Corbett, they dropped their record down to 2-6 with the defeat, which was their 12th straight on the road dating back to last season.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Warrenton will challenge rival Valley Catholic at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Corbett is set to square off against their familiar foe Neah-Kah-Nie at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
