Baseball Recap: Grayson County Comes Up Short

Grayson County and Fort Chiswell squared off in some playoff action on Monday, but Grayson County had to settle for second. They fell just short of the Pioneers by a score of 8-7. The Blue Devils were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Pioneers earlier this season, when they won 4-3.

Grayson County's defeat dropped their record down to 13-9. As for Fort Chiswell, their win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 16-4.

Grayson County does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Fort Chiswell, they will challenge Auburn at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Eagles will roll in looking for their 13th straight victory, something the Pioneers surely won't give up without a fight.
