Baseball Game Preview: Bertie Falcons vs. Southeast Halifax Trojans

The Bertie Falcons will head out on the road to take on the Southeast Halifax Trojans at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Bertie has given up an average of 10.6 runs per game this season, but Monday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Bertie took a ten-run defeat the last time they faced off against Hobgood Charter, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. Bertie came out on top in a nail-biter against Hobgood Charter on Wednesday, sneaking past 14-13. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Falcons have posted since April 26, 2024.

Meanwhile, Southeast Halifax was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They came up short against Tarboro, falling 17-1.

Southeast Halifax saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was James Bullock, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one stolen base.

With the win, Bertie broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 3-10. As for Southeast Halifax, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-3.
