Springfield had already won seven in a row and they went ahead and made it eight on Thursday. They came out on top against HEA Firebirds HomeSchool by a score of 3-1. This was payback for the Blue Devils, who suffered a 3-0 defeat the last time these two teams met.

The win didn't come easy: HEA Firebirds HomeSchool scored at least 20 points in every set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-20, 25-20, 18-25, 25-22.

Dennis Rakosik paced Springfield's offense, picking up ten kills. Rakosik were helped by Reed Schwieterman and Lorence Sayco, who contributed 11 assists each.

Springfield pushed their record up to 8-1 with the victory, which was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season. As for HEA Firebirds HomeSchool, their loss dropped their record down to 1-1.

Looking ahead, Springfield will take on Anthony Wayne at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for HEA Firebirds HomeSchool, they will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Perrysburg at 6:00 p.m. on the 22nd.
