Piedmont Hills won the last time they faced Oak Grove and things went their way  on Thursday too. The Pirates were the clear victors by  a  12-1 margin over the Eagles. Considering the Pirates have won nine contests by more than six  runs this season, Thursday's  blowout was nothing new.
 Isabella Flores made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound,   striking out six batters over  three innings while giving up   no  earned runs off   one  hit (and only one walk). Flores was also big at the plate,  scoring two  runs and  stealing three bases while going 1-for-3.
 In other pitching news,  Camila Delgado Yescas looked comfortable as she  pitched two innings while giving up   no  earned runs off   one  hit. What's more,  she posted two  strikeouts, the most she's  had since back in April of 2024.
 Back at the plate,  Isabella Paskert was  incredible,  scoring three  runs and  stealing two bases while going 1-for-3. She continues to improve, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's  played. Another player making a difference was  Michelle Torres, who  scored two  runs and  stole three bases while going 2-for-4.
 Piedmont Hills was getting hits left and right  and  finished the game having  posted a batting average of .393. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Oak Grove only posted a  batting average of  .118.
The  win (which was Piedmont Hills' third in a row) raised their record to 13-4. Those  victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.7 runs on average over those games. As for Oak Grove,  they are  on  an  11-game losing streak  (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-6.
 Oak Grove didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next  match,  a  13-12  win against Silver Creek on the 11th. Hopefully Piedmont Hills payed attention to the Eagles'  game: the next time they hit the field, they'll take on the Eagles  at 4:00  p.m.  on  the 18th.
