Basketball Recap: Ryleigh Trivette's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Andrew Jackson Academy over Patrick Henry Academy

Andrew Jackson Academy was the 47-34 winner over Patrick Henry Academy when they last played one another back in December of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Andrew Jackson Academy Warriors fell 43-31 to the Patrick Henry Academy Patriots on Saturday. The Warriors have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Several Warriors players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Ryleigh Trivette, who posted seven points. McKinnley Beard was another key player, putting up seven points.

Patrick Henry Academy had a senior duo take command as Lillian Lucas put up 19 points along with seven boards and seven steals and Laney Futch dropped a double-double on 12 points and 11 rebounds. Futch has been hot for a while, having also posted two or more steals the last 12 times she's played. Saquoia Sexton was another key player, posting seven points.

Andrew Jackson Academy now has a losing record at 6-7. As for Patrick Henry Academy, their victory bumped their record up to 7-4.

Andrew Jackson Academy will look to defend their home court on Friday against Holy Trinity Classical Christian at 6:00 p.m. As for Patrick Henry Academy, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 52-41 win against Cathedral Academy on the 13th.
