Softball Recap: Ellenville Blue Devils vs. Sullivan West Bulldogs
Ellenville blew Sullivan West out of the water the last time the pair played, but on Tuesday Sullivan West got their revenge. The Blue Devils fell just short of the Bulldogs by a score of 8-6. The Blue Devils were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Bulldogs apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in May of 2019.

Victoria Bonitz put in work while hitting and pitching. She tossed seven innings while giving up just one earned (and seven unearned) runs off eight hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in four consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base and one RBI.
In other batting news, Angela Litts was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-4 with three RBI, one run, and one double.
Ellenville's defeat dropped their record down to 6-6. As for Sullivan West, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 6-1.
Ellenville wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 10-4 win against Millbrook on the 27th. Hopefully Sullivan West paid attention to the Blue Devils' matchup: the next time they hit the field, they'll take on the Blue Devils at 3:00 p.m. on May 29.
