Duke secured its first Class of 2019 pledge Monday, receiving a commitment from Wendell Moore of Cox Mill (Concord, N.C.).

Regarded as the No. 23 overall prospect in the senior class by 247Sports, the 6-foot-5 wing announced his decision at his high school approximately two weeks after his Sept. 22 official visit to Durham.

Moore has led Cox Mill to back-to-back Class 3A state titles, earning second team Junior MaxPreps All American honors in 2017-18.

Averaging 25.4 points, 7.3 rebounds and 2.9 assists per game last season, Moore guided Cox Mill to a 29-3 record while earning his second consecutive NCBCA Player of the Year award.

The 5-star prospect chose head coach Mike Krzyzewski and the Blue Devils over ACC rivals North Carolina, North Carolina State and Wake Forest.
In addition to his exploits at Cox Mill, Wendell Moore has won gold medals with USA Basketball over each of the past two summers.
