Softball Recap: Tri-County Penguins vs. Pittsville Panthers
After flying high against Pittsville last Friday, Tri-County came back down to earth. The Tri-County Penguins lost 12-3 to the Pittsville Panthers on Monday. Tri-County was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Pittsville apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played.
Tri-County saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Paitton Rothermel, who went 2-for-3 with a stolen base and an RBI. Rothermel has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't pitched less than six innings in four consecutive pitching appearances.
Tri-County's loss dropped their record down to 1-8. As for Pittsville, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a massive bump to their 5-4 record this season.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Tri-County will take on Pacelli at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Pittsville, they will be staying on the road on Thursday to face off against Northland Lutheran at 4:30 p.m.
