Baseball Game Preview: Belton Tigers vs. University Trojans

For the second straight game, Belton will face off against University. The Tigers will venture away from home to square off against the Trojans at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.

While Belton's win against University wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Tigers won by a run and slipped past the Trojans 5-4. The victory continues a trend for the Tigers in their matchups with the Trojans: they've now won five in a row.

For University's part, D'Angelo Alvarado made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances. The team also got some help courtesy of Armando Cervantez, who went 1-for-2 with two RBI.

University's loss dropped their record down to 11-7. As for Belton, their win was their first in the district, bumping their district record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 7-11.
