Softball Recap: Belmont Continues Home Dominance on Wednesday

Belmont and Meadowdale pushed the score to 23-5 the last time they played Meadowdale, but on Wednesday defenses reigned supreme. The Bison never let the Lions get on the board and left with a 3-0 win. The Bison have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Lions, too.

The team relied heavily on Megan Leonard, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one home run, one stolen base, and two RBI. Makenna Mcdowell also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.

Belmont pushed their record up to 4-1 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.7 runs over those games. As for Meadowdale, their loss dropped their record down to 0-2.

Coincidentally, Belmont and Meadowdale will both be playing Stivers School for the Arts the next time they take the field. The Lions will host the Tigers at 5:00 p.m. on the 24th, while the Bison will host them at 5:00 p.m. on the 28th.
