Northwest Christian piles up the points against Scottsdale Christian Academy

Recap: Northwest Christian Crusaders vs. Scottsdale Christian Academy Eagles

Even though the Northwest Christian Crusaders have not done well against the Scottsdale Christian Academy Eagles recently (they were 0-9 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Wednesday. Northwest Christian took their contest on the road with ease, bagging a 46-19 victory over Scottsdale Christian Academy. Given Northwest Christian's advantage in MaxPreps' Arizona basketball rankings (they are ranked 78th, while Scottsdale Christian Academy is ranked 232nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Leading Northwest Christian to victory were Haylie Seifried and Katelyn Best. Seifried scored 14 points, while Best scored ten points along with eight rebounds and four steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Seifried has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Maddie Lyons, who scored four points along with five assists.

Northwest Christian has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a nice bump to their 9-5 record this season. As for Scottsdale Christian Academy, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-10.

Northwest Christian won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Gilbert Christian at 5:30 p.m. on January 11th. Gilbert Christian has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. As for Scottsdale Christian Academy, they will be playing at home against Valley Christian at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Valley Christian focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up ten last Monday.
