Hoover had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 3.7 runs) and they went ahead and made it four on Friday. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Lincoln County Panthers  a   4-0 shutout. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won  12-6  back in March.
 Gabe Blackwell looked comfortable as he  didn't allow a single  earned run and  allowed only two  hits over four innings pitched. What's more,  he posted three  strikeouts, the most he's  had since back in May of 2024.
 At the plate,  the team  relied heavily on  Braydon Bounds, who  went a perfect 2-for-2 with two  RBI, one  run,  and one  double. That's the most  hits  he has posted since back in March.
Hoover's win bumped their record up to 11-8. As for Lincoln County,  with the  loss, they broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 11-8.
 Both  squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Hoover will host Wayne  at 7:00  p.m.  on Tuesday. As for Lincoln County, they will welcome Sissonville  at 7:00  p.m.  on Monday. Both teams are headed into the matchup with plenty of momentum (the Panthers have won five straight at home, while the Indians won three straight on the road), something that'll have to change.
