Basketball Recap: Azle Comes Up Short

On Tuesday, the Azle Hornets might have been a little too into the holiday spirit, gifting the Fossil Ridge Panthers an easy 63-38 victory. While losing is never fun, the Hornets can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 979th, while the Panthers are ranked 50th).

Azle has been struggling recently as they've lost eight of their last nine games, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-14 record this season. As for Fossil Ridge, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 13-3.

Azle will be home for the holidays to greet Saginaw at 3:45 p.m. on Friday. As for Fossil Ridge, they will venture away from home to take on Brewer at 6:15 p.m. on Friday.
