Soccer Preview: Spencerville vs. New Knoxville
The Spencerville Bearcats's road trip will continue as they head out to face the New Knoxville Rangers at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
Having struggled with four defeats in a row, Spencerville finally turned things around against Fort Jennings on Thursday. Both finished up on equal footing with a 2-2 draw. The result was nothing new for the Bearcats as the squad haven't won a game since September 10th.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask New Knoxville). They never let Fairlawn onto the board and left with a 12-0 victory on Thursday. The high-scoring effort was just what the Rangers needed considering they were shutout in their previous game.
Their offense was hitting Fairlawn from everywhere, as eight different players booted in a goal.
Jay Schroeder led that balanced group of strikers and accounted for three goals all by himself.
With that draw, Spencerville's record moves to 4-6-2. As for New Knoxville, they now have a winning record of 6-5-2.
