Basketball Recap: Katz Yeshiva Takes a Loss

Katz Yeshiva lost against St. John Paul II Academy back in February of 2023 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Katz Yeshiva Storm lost to the St. John Paul II Academy Eagles on the road by a 77-63 margin. The Storm have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead St. John Paul II Academy to victory, but perhaps none more so than Dior Johnson, who went 10 for 19 on his way to 24 points and four steals. Sebastian Mesa was another key player, going 7 of 11 on his way to 15 points and six steals.

Katz Yeshiva now has a losing record at 3-4. As for St. John Paul II Academy, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 7-4 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Katz Yeshiva will take on Jewish Culture in a holiday battle at at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Jewish Culture will roll in looking for their seventh straight victory, something Katz Yeshiva surely won't give up without a fight. St. John Paul II Academy and American Heritage will compete for holiday cheer at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
