The Flat Rock Rams are taking a road trip to challenge the Milan Big Reds at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Flat Rock is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 10 runs per game this season.

Flat Rock is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to 21 runs on Saturday, they were much more limited against Huron on Tuesday. They took a 5-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Chiefs. The Rams have struggled against the Chiefs recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost meeting.

Flat Rock got a good showing from Jayden Yancy, who pitched 1.2 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits.

At the plate, Flat Rock saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Alex Baron, who scored a run while going 1-for-3.

While Milan didn't have the best season last year (they finished 11-20), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They won by a run and slipped past Riverview 3-2. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Big Reds.

Milan's win was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 4-1. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they've averaged 7.0 runs this season. As for Flat Rock, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 3-1.

Flat Rock beat Milan 11-6 when the teams last played back in May of 2024. Will the Rams repeat their success, or do the Big Reds have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
