Baseball Recap: Hancock County Takes a Loss

Hancock County extended their losing streak to three on Friday, dropping their season record down to 6-13 in the process. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 4-3 heartbreaker at the hands of the Pineville Mountain Lions. That's two games in a row now that the Indians have lost by just one run.

As for Pineville, they moved to 2-8 with that win, which also ended their eight-game losing streak. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory they have posted since April 15, 2024.

For Pineville's part, their win was truly a team effort as three different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Kaiden Robbins, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with one RBI. Another was Kaden Taylor, who got on base in two of his three plate appearances with two runs.

Looking ahead, Hancock County will venture away from home to challenge Washburn on Monday. As for Pineville, they will host Lynn Camp at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
