Baseball Recap: Camden Extends Winning Streak to Three

Camden not only won on Tuesday, but they posted their biggest win since April 3rd (when they won 7-0). They put the hurt on the Homer Trojans with a sharp 6-0 win. The victory was familiar territory for the Blue Devils, who have now won three contests in a row.

The result came thanks to Andrew Joyce's shutout, as he gave up just three hits and racked up seven Ks. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in five consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Joey Matt was incredible, going 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of James Hinds, who earned two runs and two stolen bases.

Camden pushed their record up to 8-5 with the win, which was their third straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.7 runs on average over those games. As for Homer, they are on a ten-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-12.

As of now, neither Camden nor the Trojans have any future games scheduled.
