Basketball Game Preview: Wimberley Texans vs. Davenport Wolves

The Wimberley Texans will face off against the Davenport Wolves at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Wimberley's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last 14 contests.

Wimberley is headed into the game after thoroughly thrashing Navarro: they outscored them in every quarter. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that Wimberley blew Navarro out of the water with a 67-36 final score. Given the Texans' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 296th, while the Panthers are ranked 1074th), the result on Tuesday wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Davenport had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 20 points) and they went ahead and made it four on Wednesday. They put the hurt on the BULLDOGS with a sharp 75-55 victory. The Wolves have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 15 matchups by 20 points or more this season.

Wimberley's win bumped their record up to 19-8. As for Davenport, they are also on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests, which somehow still isn't as good as their 23-4 record this season.
