Lee County posted their closest victory since April 3, 2024 on Friday. They had just enough and edged out the Pinecrest Patriots 8-6. The Yellow Jackets haven't had any issues with the Patriots recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive win against them.

McKenzy Mcdougald spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned (and two unearned) runs on ten hits and racked up six Ks.

On the hitting side, Cherish Smith was excellent, scoring two runs and stealing Two bases. while going 2-for-4. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in stolen bases. The team also got some help courtesy of Kasie Roberts, who scored a run and stole Two bases. while going 1-for-4.

Lee County's victory was their first in the conference, bumping their conference record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 2-4. As for Pinecrest, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-5 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Lee County will host Richmond at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Richmond has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 11 runs per game on average), something Lee County will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Pinecrest, they will face off against Scotland at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
