Soccer Game Preview: Coconino vs. Coronado

The Coconino Panthers will be taking part in a tournament against the Coronado Dons at 3:15 p.m. on Friday. Coconino will be coming into the match with an undefeated record on the line.

While Coconino didn't have the best season last year (they finished 5-9), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They came out on top against Arete Prep by a score of 3-1 on Thursday. That's two games straight that the Panthers have won by exactly two goals.

Santiago Aguero and Josemiguel Villanueva scored all three of Coconino's goals, bringing their combined season tally to 13 goals.

Meanwhile, Coronado's game on Thursday was all tied up 0-0 at the half, but luckily for them it didn't stay that way. They skirted past Arete Prep 2-1. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Dons.

Coconino pushed their record up to 5-0 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 11 goals over those three contests. As for Coronado, their win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 3-3.
