Softball Recap: Springfield Yellow Jackets vs. Rossview Hawks
Springfield proved they can win big last Wednesday (they won by nine) and on Tuesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 5-3 victory over the Rossview Hawks. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 7-5 back in March.

Makenzie Cox spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and one unearned) runs on seven hits. She has been consistent : she hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances.

Springfield will take on Pope John Paul II at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Rossview, they will look to defend their home field on Tuesday against Northeast at 5:30 p.m.
