Basketball Recap: El Paso HomeSchool Takes a Loss

El Paso HomeSchool played a tough contest on Tuesday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were outmatched by the Immanuel Christian Warriors and fell 71-32. The Panthers have struggled against the Warriors recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive lost matchup.

Despite the loss, El Paso HomeSchool still got an impressive performance from Clay Cranson, who almost dropped a double-double with 13 points and nine boards. Cranson has been hot, having posted nine or more rebounds the last five times he's played.

Carlos Acu?a had a dynamite game for Immanuel Christian, going 8-for-9 on his way to 18 points along with seven assists and seven steals. Acu?a is becoming a predictor of Immanuel Christian's success: when he posts at least three steals the team is 13-1 (and 5-11 when he doesn't). The team also got some help courtesy of Jayson Chang, who went 6-for-13 to rack up 14 points and six boards.

El Paso HomeSchool's loss dropped their record down to 10-12. As for Immanuel Christian, the win was the eighth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 18-12.

El Paso HomeSchool wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 48-43 defeat against Jesus Chapel on the 11th. As for Immanuel Christian, they have also already played their next game, a 72-48 loss against Cathedral on the 7th.
