A Season-Best Performance from Dax Varnadore Leads Fort Payne over Gadsden City
Dax Varnadore produced his most outstanding game to date while leading Fort Payne to the win on Friday. Varnadore threw for 144 yards and four touchdowns while completing 72.2% of his passes, and also rushed for 52 yards, good enough to set a new career-high in rushing yards in the process.
Varnadore is probably looking forward to his next game, a road matchup against Hazel Green on Friday. When Varnadore last faced the Trojans back in October of 2023, he threw for 257 yards and two touchdowns, and also punched in a touchdown on the ground.

While Buckhorn might've come up empty on Friday, Shamarion Landrum wasn't going down without a fight. Nobody could stop Landrum as he rushed for 102 yards and a touchdown.
Buckhorn now has a losing record at 3-4. Landrum and Buckhorn will take on Mae Jemison on Thursday.
