Softball Recap: Polytechnic Takes a Loss

Polytechnic extended their losing streak to ten on Tuesday, dropping them down to 2-12. They lost 19-9 to the Trimble Tech Bulldogs. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Bulldogs this season, with their most recent defeat being a 29-20 loss on March 5th.

As for Trimble Tech, their win bumped their record up to 7-10. Considering they have won six matchups by more than eight runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

For Trimble Tech's part, they got a massive performance out of Ilia Vasquez, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with three runs, three RBI, and one triple. Those four hits gave Vasquez a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Brittany Hernandez, who went 2-for-4 with two triples, two runs, and two RBI.

Coming up, Polytechnic will be playing at home against Arlington Heights at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Yellowjackets have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 8.43 runs per game on average), something the Parrots will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Trimble Tech, they will head out on the road to square off against South Hills at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
