Soccer Game Preview: Bridges Prep vs. Academic Magnet

The Bridges Prep Buccaneers will head out on the road to square off against the Academic Magnet Raptors at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Bridges Prep knows how to get goals on the board -- the team has finished with four goals or more in their past five contests -- so hopefully Academic Magnet likes a good challenge.

On Friday, Bridges Prep got the win against Battery Creek by a conclusive 4-1. The result was nothing new for Bridges Prep, who have now won 12 matchups by three goals or more so far this season.

Meanwhile, for the first time this season, Academic Magnet was forced to settle for a draw. Neither they nor A.C. Reynolds could gain the upper hand on Thursday so the two teams had to settle for a 2-2 draw.

Bridges Prep has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten games. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-4 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 86 goals over those ten contests. Academic Magnet's draw gives them a new season record of 11-7-1.

Bridges Prep might still be hurting after the 8-0 defeat they got from Academic Magnet when the teams last played back in May of 2023. Can the Buccaneers avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
