Basketball Recap: Griffin Comes Up Short

Griffin lost against Bradwell Institute back in December of 2023 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Griffin Bears were beaten by the Bradwell Institute Tigers 61-24. While losing is never fun, the Bears can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 182nd, while the Tigers are ranked 47th).

Ja?Nya Bush went supernova for Bradwell Institute, going 8 for 10 on her way to 16 points and four steals. That's the most points Bush has posted since back in December of 2023. Parris Parham was another key player, putting up nine points along with six boards and six steals.

This is the second loss in a row for Griffin and nudges their season record down to 6-8. As for Bradwell Institute, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 11-2 record this season.

Griffin will be playing in front of their home fans against Harris County at 3:00 p.m. on Friday. Bradwell Institute and Ware County will round out the year against one another at at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Bradwell Institute is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 63 points per game this season.
