Football Game Preview: Cooper Jaguars vs. South Oldham Dragons + Official Tickets

The Cooper Jaguars will be playing at home against the South Oldham Dragons at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Cooper's favor is that they have posted at least 31 points in their last five contests.

Cooper will bounce into Friday's matchup after beating Simon Kenton, who they had gone 0-5 against in their five prior meetings. The Jaguars put the hurt on the Pioneers with a sharp 55-29 victory on Thursday. The score at the end of the third wound up being the final score as the Jaguars just coasted through the last quarter.

Cam O'Hara was nothing short of spectacular: he threw for 453 yards and eight TDs while picking up 14.2 yards per attempt. His passing game has become a key predictor of Cooper's success: the team is undefeated when his passer rating is 110 or higher, but only 2-3 otherwise. The Jaguars also got a significant boost from Keagan Maher, who ran away from the competition to the tune of 105 yards.

Another reason for the win was Cooper's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for three sacks. Owen Flamm refused to say out of the backfield, picking up 1.5 sacks all by himself.

Meanwhile, South Oldham was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They lost 36-14 to Bryan Station.

Cooper pushed their record up to 7-3 with the win, which was their fourth straight on the road. Those road victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 39.8 points over those games. As for South Oldham, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-5.

Everything came up roses for Cooper against South Oldham in their previous meeting back in November of 2024, as the squad secured a 56-28 win. Will the Jaguars repeat their success, or do the Dragons have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
