Basketball Recap: Southeast Bulloch Yellow Jackets vs. South Effingham Mustangs

Southeast Bulloch was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They took a 54-46 hit to the loss column at the hands of the South Effingham Mustangs. The Yellow Jackets were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Mustangs apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in December of 2023.

South Effingham was led to victory by Marcus Campbell and Will Harlin. Campbell went 5 for 11 on his way to 12 points in addition to six rebounds and five steals, while Harlin posted 13 points along with five boards and four steals. Those five steals gave Campbell a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Quinton Williams, who had three points and six steals.

Southeast Bulloch's loss dropped their record down to 1-8. As for South Effingham, their victory bumped their record up to 3-7.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Southeast Bulloch will head out to square off against Johnson at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Johnson is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 60.4 points per game this season. South Effingham and New Hampstead will compete for holiday cheer at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. New Hampstead knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past six contests -- so hopefully South Effingham likes a good challenge.
