Calvary Christian Academy has gone a perfect 3-0 against Saint Andrew recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Eagles will head out on the road to square off against the Scots at 6:30 p.m. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Calvary Christian Academy comes in on four and Saint Andrew's on seven.
Fans were treated to a battle of the Eagles on Thursday. Calvary Christian Academy was the clear victor by a 28-7 margin over North Broward Prep. The score at the end of the third wound up being the final score as Calvary Christian Academy just coasted through the last quarter.
The critical scores for Calvary Christian Academy came from Darryn Cooper, Cole Weinberg, Matthew Del Campo Gomez, and Gavin Ganter.
Calvary Christian Academy was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 215 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've posted since back in October of 2024.
Calvary Christian Academy didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Dominick Cannizzaro and Michael McDuffie.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Saint Andrew's). They blew past Somerset Academy Key, posting a 59-12 victory. Given the Scots' advantage in MaxPreps' Florida football rankings (they are ranked 140th, while the Lions are ranked 534th) , the win on Friday wasn't entirely unexpected.
Saint Andrew's win came from a few key players Calvary Christian Academy will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Jack Williams, who threw for 119 yards and three touchdowns. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in passer rating (177.1).
Saint Andrew's defense made their presence known, laying out the QB nine times. Leading the way was Madiou Diallo with two sacks. Dylan Faison got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.
Special teams was a major factor in the game for Saint Andrew's, racking up 19 points in total. The biggest highlight from special teams (and perhaps the team as a whole) came courtesy of Natan Perrier, who ran a kickoff back for a touchdown. Another bright spot was a punt return touchdown from Wesley Winn.
Calvary Christian Academy's record now sits at 6-1. As for Saint Andrew's, their record is now 7-0.
Calvary Christian Academy beat Saint Andrew's 32-21 in their previous meeting back in October of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Eagles since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
