CHICAGO — There's so much buildup to the event. Not just one season. It's a lifetime for the 48 elite senior high school basketball players. These are the cream of the crop. The best of the best. And to get to this point, it takes years of work and practice and skill.

The McDonald's All-American brand is synonymous with greatness and laced with tradition. It's also filled with color, glamor and hope. Enjoy the following images here by John Rowland, taken Wednesday.
