Softball Game Preview: Amphitheater Panthers vs. Rio Rico Hawks

Amphitheater is 0-10 against Rio Rico since April of 2018 but things could change on Wednesday. The Panthers will venture away from home to challenge the Hawks at 4:00 p.m. Amphitheater has given up an average of 17.9 runs per game this season, but Wednesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Amphitheater is headed into Wednesday's contest looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their fifth straight game on Monday. They came up short against Rio Rico, falling 17-3.

Isabella Espinoza made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored two runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-2. She has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Talisa Yrigolla, who scored a run while going 1-for-3.

Amphitheater's loss dropped their record down to 1-7. As for Rio Rico, their victory ended a seven-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 2-9.
