Football Game Preview: Chester Yellowjackets vs. Burkeville Mustangs

The Chester Yellowjackets will face off against the Burkeville Mustangs at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Chester's favor is that they have posted at least 31 points every time they've taken the field this season.

Chester's defense heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Thursday. They claimed a resounding 66-0 victory over Apple Springs. The Yellowjackets' offense checked out after the first half but had enough points banked to take the game anyway.

Burkeville played against High Island on Friday and won via forfeit.

Chester's win bumped their record up to 6-1. As for Burkeville, the victory got them back to even at 4-4.

Chester was taken down by Burkeville 78-50 in their previous meeting back in October of 2024. Thankfully for the Yellowjackets, Brandon Lewis (who rushed for 311 yards and six touchdowns while picking up 16.4 yards per carry, and also threw for 300 yards and five TDs while picking up 13.6 yards per attempt) won't be suiting up this time.
