Basketball Recap: Chalmette Takes a Loss

Chalmette was the 44-39 winner over Northshore when they last played one another back in December of 2022, but their luck changed this time around. The Chalmette Owls were dealt a 57-26 defeat at the hands of the Northshore Panthers on Saturday. While losing is never fun, the Owls can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Louisiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 187th, while the Panthers are ranked 44th).

Chalmette lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Macy Robinson, who posted 14 points. Robinson has been hot recently, having also posted two or more blocks the last three times she's played. Kendall Blaise was another key player, putting up six points and six rebounds.

Chalmette has been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last seven matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-6 record this season. As for Northshore, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven games, which provided a nice bump to their 8-2 record this season.

Chalmette wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 55-39 loss against Archbishop Chapelle on the 9th. As for Northshore, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 45-41 defeat against Glen Oaks on the 10th.
