Baseball Recap: Shadow Hills Puts Losing Streak Behind Them

Shadow Hills's game on Tuesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Wednesday. They put the hurt on the Xavier Prep Saints with a sharp 7-1 victory. The Knights not only won on Wednesday, but they posted their biggest win since April 2nd (when they won 10-2).

Ernesto Ibarra was a major factor no matter where he played. He pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-5 with two runs and one stolen base. Shadow Hills is 4-1 when Ibarra posts two or more runs, but 7-11 otherwise.

Ibarra wasn't the only one making solid contact as seven players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Mario Valenzuela, who went 1-for-2 with one run and one RBI.

Shadow Hills moved to 11-12 with that win, which also ended their four-game losing streak. As for Xavier Prep, they have been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 10-12 record this season.

The Aztecs will roll in looking for their ninth straight victory, something the Knights surely won't give up without a fight. As for Xavier Prep, they are taking a road trip to challenge Palm Springs at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
