Volleyball Game Preview: Rock Island Rocks vs. Sterling Golden Warriors + How To Watch

The Rock Island Rocks will venture away from home to take on the Sterling Golden Warriors at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

On Tuesday, Rock Island came up short against Moline and fell 2-0. The Rocks haven't had much luck with the Maroons recently, as the team has come up short the last six times they've met.

The loss didn't mean the game wasn't competitive: Moline scored at least 19 points in every set. The final score came out to 25-20, 25-19.

Meanwhile, Sterling didn't have quite enough to beat Quincy on Tuesday and fell 2-1.

In an exciting match in which no team claimed back-to-back wins, Sterling sadly wound up on the wrong side. The match finished with set scores of 25-15, 16-25, 25-23.

Sterling now has a losing record of 12-13. As for Rock Island, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-12.

Rock Island was able to grind out a solid win over Sterling when the teams last played back in September, winning 2-0. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Rocks since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
