O'Farrell Charter came into this matchup off a tough 62-point defeat two weeks ago. This time they kept things ultra-competitive, but unfortunately the final result was the same. They fell just short of Victory Christian Academy by a score of 15-12 on Friday. The Falcons have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

O'Farrell Charter might have lost, but man, Dakobi Coleman was a machine: he rushed for 122 yards and one score on only 15 carries, and also threw for 111 yards and one TD on only ten passes. The Falcons are 2-1 when Coleman posts 100 or more rushing yards, but 2-5 otherwise. Evan Kelly was Coleman's top target, picking up 91 receiving yards and one touchdown.

Meanwhile, Palo Verde Valley won against Calipatria back in October with 34 points and they decided to stick to that point total again two weeks ago. The Yellow Jackets really took it to Southwest EC for the full four quarters, racking up a 34-6 win. The victory continues a trend for the Yellow Jackets in their matchups with the Eagles: they've now won seven in a row.

Palo Verde Valley found their leader in sophomore Ayden Walker, who rushed for 175 yards and a pair of scores while picking up 10.3 yards per carry. Walker also put in work on the defensive side of the ball, making eight total tackles and defending two passes. Another player making a difference was Darrius Scott, who gained 105 total yards and a touchdown.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Palo Verde Valley was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 445 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've managed all season.

O'Farrell Charter's loss dropped their record down to 4-6. As for Palo Verde Valley, their win bumped their record up to 6-4.
