Baseball Recap: Texas Wind Picks Up Fourth Consecutive Victory

It's playoff time, and Texas Wind had no trouble coming through when it counted. They were the clear victors by a 10-2 margin over the BVCHEA HomeSchool Mustangs on Thursday. Texas Wind might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five contests by eight runs or more this season.

Jon Alexander and Evan Putman did most of the damage at the plate: Alexander went a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and one run, while Putman went 1-for-2 with three stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. That's the most RBI Alexander has posted since back in February. The team also got some help courtesy of Luke Ellison, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with one stolen base and one RBI.

Texas Wind always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .680. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as BVCHEA HomeSchool only posted an OBP of .278.

The victory was the fourth in a row for Texas Wind, bringing their record up to 9-3. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for BVCHEA HomeSchool, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-15 record this season.

As of now, neither Texas Wind nor BVCHEA HomeSchool have any future games scheduled.
