Basketball Recap: Johnson County Sports Association Takes a Loss

Johnson County Sports Association was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat dating back to last season. They took a blow against the Ovilla Christian Eagles, falling 50-17. The Lions were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 25-4.

Haylee Flaniken and Rea Unterseher certainly did their best on Friday to avoid the loss. Flaniken posted 13 points in addition to five boards and three blocks, while Unterseher scored two points and nine rebounds.

Johnson County Sports Association's loss dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Ovilla Christian, the win got them back to even at 1-1.

Johnson County Sports Association and Ovilla Christian will both get a bit of extra prep time before their next games. The next time the Lions see the court they'll take on Gustine at 6:00 p.m. on January 20, 2026. As for Ovilla Christian, their break will end when they face Calvary Academy at 7:00 p.m. on December 9.
