Preview: Jones Trojans vs. Union Spartans
The Jones Trojans will head out on the road to face off against the Union Spartans at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Jones has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
Even though Spring Creek scored an imposing 60 points on Monday, Jones still came out on top. Jones walked away with a 72-60 win over Spring Creek.
Jones' success was spearheaded by the efforts of Keonte' Roberts , who scored 19 points along with 5 steals, and Gabriel Butler, who scored 30 points. The matchup was Butler's fourth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Demarion Jones, who scored 10 points.
Meanwhile, Union took a serious blow against East Columbus last Tuesday, falling 67-22. Union has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Spring Creek's victory bumped their season record to 2-0 while Jones' defeat dropped theirs to 2-1.
Everything came up roses for Jones against Union in their previous matchup back in January as the team secured a 85-50 win. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was Union's Javion Faison, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 17 rebounds.
